Default Volvo 240, parking brake missing

I recently bought a 1990 Volvo 240, and among the short list of mechanical issues was the parking brake not working. So I finally decided to see what the problem was and if the car just needed new brake shoes, but when I got underneath the drum, I found that there was absolutely nothing as far as a parking brake assembly, all it was was the handbrake cable extended out of the hole underneath the brake drum, and it wasn’t connected to anything. Now I need to buy the whole parking brake assembly and everything that is needed to make the parking brake work. I couldn’t find anything online about buying a whole assembly, just a bunch of random parts, and when adding all the parts up it got expensive. I’m basically asking if anyone knows of any websites that just sells the whole 240 parking brake assembly in one kit that can be put together, or should I just give up and find a part-out somewhere?

thank you

try a wrecking yard specializing in volvos. self service ones are the best even though older volvos are getting scarce there...

Call VoluParts in Georgia. They will likely have what you need. https://store.voluparts.com

to be clear, you're missing the drum brake assemblies in each rear hub ?

two useful links:

volvotips.com - has some online shop manuals to help you see how the brakes are constructed
car-part.com - helps locate recycle yards with the assemblies you may need

You may also search eBay and Craigs List to see if anyone is parting out a car to see if you can find the parking brake shoes, springs, tensioner etc...
