Default want tips to dog proof my wagon

ok, maybe not the most exciting thread, but alas (to my happiness) my 87 240 wagon is currently running beautifully, so time to focus on the inside. I sold my 88 240 sedan to get a wagon, and love it. Instead of the carpet remnants i have in there now, anyone have any ideas of what to put in the back to protect it and still look semi nice? After all, buck the dog is the reason I got my wagon. I do have a dog gate in the back, along with a fan attached to it and wired through a relay to a switch in my dash.

Ah! another dog lover. An old quilt for the carpet, and a dog bed for Buck.

I have a 2 wagons (also because of the dog) and just fold the backseat and put a blanket down for my dog. I have yet figured out a way to prevent her from getting snout marks on the windows, however.

You really should treat your dog like a child. Harness and tether the animal to protect them and you in case of an accident.

Exactly! I like to keep mine in a cage, well, an enclosure, really, with a leash over a wire where they can run back and forth all day... Now, for the dogs- they just ride in the back on a comforter.

i've always found a big moving truck, and given the movers 5 bucks for a moving blanket or 2. they are indestructable and last for years. Just wondered what everyone else did. As far as snout marks, well, they get cleaned, but without them, the car wouldn't feel the same.

IPD used to sell a cargo tray for 245's. Similar to a large floor mat. Worked great for me; I could just drag it out and dump it. They have been disco'd but still come up for sale occasionally on TB.

Default Barriers

On my p1 V70 T5 I use a ceiling to floor expandable barrier bought cheaply from most parts stores, with the rear seat flat, & the pull up screen in place. A cheap black felt blanket with the male velcro on the back grabs most of the hair.

She can't get into the cockpit, has windows at my control, and enjoys the trip so much more than in a cage or locked to a seat. Sometimes, ya just have to not be too PC!

The rear seat is only in place when in use, rest of the time it's a van.

i have a plastic liner mat that has a rim all the way around for my 740 wagon, picked it up off CL. I also have the factory optional 'dog gate' that works *great* for keeping dogs fro jjumping over the back seat.

my dog totally approves!

(ok, thats pre-plastic matt...)
