Weird engine problem on running!!!!!

Default Weird engine problem on running!!!!!

Ok so I got my 1990 740 GLE from the shop today it needed alignement and some suspension things anywaysyesterday nighti noticed that if took a hard right on the car the car wants to turn off its like its loss is power also when that happen the check engine start to lid like 3 or 4 times until the car settles that only happen when driving the car takin right turns only is very weird

I tried Retrieving the codes then it did some weird noise like coming from a relay or something it started when i was pressing the button to see the codes then it started doing a strange sound like it was testing the system I don't how to explained first the sound come from one place the it comes from another the relay behind the coolant tank started doing a strange sound when I press the button to retrieve codes any ideas on what could be causing this problems the car starts fine as I describe first the car when I took a hard right turn it tries to turn off like something cut the fuel lines then it goes straight then it settles an ran fine ideassssss please I'm desperate

hello fellow Volvo driver,

hmm, that must suck.
is the battery looses and able to move around? check the wiring harness for the battery and conections to the battery. check all grounds that you can. make sure all is well and tight. look as best you can all throughout the engine bay for corroded wiring and/or loose connections.

Everything allright on the wirings I've retrieve the codes it only one 321 but I'm not sure that has something to do with my problem I'm concerned that code its for the air cold control valve i do not know what that is i do know that the car sometimes accelarate great but sometimes it feels very lazy like the engine its doing so much force but accelarating the way it should. My problem as I describe I'm thinkin it maybe be with the fuel pump beacuse it only do that when i turn the car for a hard right turn could maybe be the bomb any help wpuld be appreciate it

Hi gabyman97596,

I think 3-2-1 means cold start valve - no signal. Maybe you could get your mech to check this out.

I'm not sure if this is related to your problem but thought I'd just share this with you. I used to have a problem where the car dies when making sharp turns (can't remember if it was right or left). The fault was traced to a faulty power stage unit. Changing to a new unit fixed it.

On your experience with the weird noises when retrieving codes, there is a method to set off the OBDI to test the different functions of your engine sequentially i.e. it would first test the MAF, then the injectors, then the TB and so on, making sounds as it goes along (eg flapping of the butterfly valve in the TB). You could have set this off accidentally.

Ok what is the power stage unit where is located, what should i do on setting the obd1 on again if I set it off, and what do you think i shoulddo on the code 321 I rather not be takin it to the mechanic do you tink i could resolve that and where is located cold start valve thanlx in advance for your replys

Far as I know, the power stage unit works to amplify the ignition system. It's located inside the engine bay, mounted on the left fender. When I said setting off the OBDI, I meant activating it to run the tests, you don't have to set it on again. The cold start valve sits under the intake manifold.
