Default what size cooler lines in the 240 automatics...Need to plug them while I pull it

I am going to dive in and pull the trans on a 89 240 wagon to fix a rear main oil leak. The car has 275k miles and I dont want to change the fluid and *** up the trans. Since this is a "closed" transmission. I thought that if I could buy plugs and caps for the trans lines, I could tap them off as I pulled the trans. If anybody can recall the size it would be helpful. JET

I don't think you need any special plugs. Just get an assortment of rubber caps and stick them in the fitting after you remove the lines. You will loose a little fluid but no big deal. I still have a rear main seal leak on my 740 with 317k on it but there isn't enough loss to pull the transmission yet. I do flush the trans. every 50K miles.
