Do you slip the cylindrical part over the red part or how does this work?

I thought it might be for that but it seems like it would fall off easily.

Slide the threaded part over it and it will hang on the lip by the threads.

It took me awhile to figuar that out too. it is stun but cool and convenent.

Can someone take a picture of this? (Picture of how you use it)

It may be because I have an aftermarket locking gas cap, but I've never been able to put it onto the thing, hence my original question.
