I'm going to assume I could install a 3rd seat in my '89 740 wagon.

Should I hit the junk yards? Obiviously that would be the cheapest route.

Is there an online guide to the installation?

I did search 3rd row, wagon seating, and seats.

It's easy to install - just bolts in place. You can get the instructions from the Haynes manuals etc. I just bought another 240, a 1988 with a new motor and tranny with the 3rd row. Ironically I'd just won a seat on ebay - and will be getting it by UPS soon. If you're interested you can have 1st crack at it before it goes back on ebay. Just let me know.
