Where does this hose go?

Question Where does this hose go?
What is the hose coming off the bottom of the canister? I plugged it w/ a wire nut but would like to know where it goes. I cant find anything missing a hose that size.

You need to remove that plug,that's the breather for the canister.

it just hangs there? did there used to be something on the end of it?
