what is the offset on the old rims?
what is the offset on the new rims?

I would try and stick with the standard +20mm offset in the front. The rear you should be able to run from +25mm to 0mm.

hard to say if you will rub without actually seeing the setup in person.

i looked on back of 18s i saw a 66 Number Not sure if offset but the mounting surface of wheels is shorter then my stock 16s and also should i get the two inch or 1.25 inch thick adapters since mounting surface is shorter then stock and i have to make sure the hub bolts don't stick out farther then adapters

Sounds like 66 is the offset. You will want to find ~45mm spaces/adapters. That is ~1 3/4"

That should give you ~21mm offset

i can't find any 1 3/4 wheel adapters so if i went with a 2 inch adapter would that work im just worried it might stick out and hit bottom of fender or will it be fine with 225 40 18 low pro tires

I am not sure exactlly where that will leave the tire, but it might be out too far.
2" will get you a close to zero offset. with 225's might be pushing it. There are people how make custom spacers. try calling ben at Kaplhenke Racing, or Dale at Avalanche Performance. They both make custom spacers.

I test fitted a 7.5" rim on the my car with 225/50/16s. I had some problems with them, most in the front because the coilovers interfer. and the rears with the 16" rim diameter and 20mm offset was hitting the rear caliper safety bracket.

18's wont have any trouble in the rear if you find the proper spacer thickness. the fronts will work fine if you find the right thickness also.

well i found some that are 1.25 thick so will that work with tire and rim setup front and rear im not lowering it until i get tire situated so its sitting stock height. Also does anyone know ho long the bolt is to the lugs because another concern is that the bolt might stick out of adapter and hit back of wheels

wait... this is for a 940 right? opps....
i did this on the 244. I havent done this on the 740(same as the 940) and I am not sure if they have similar wheel fitment..

as for the lug nutz, the spacers should come with nutz to mount the spacers to the hubs, which will not interfer with the rim. You use the lugs you have on the car right now to mount the rims to the spacers.

I would actually lower the car first. this will show you where the final position of the fender will be. then you spec the spacers to clear the fender.

correct, both around 20mm-25mm, but the back spacing might be different.
I know the 700/900 dont have the rear safety bracket like the 240s have.
Looks like a 2" spacer might work in the rear, but the front might hit the fender liner with a 2".

you can buy them, mount them, and see if they work, but see if the company will let you return them. I know H&R will not accept returns if they are fitted, unless they fail.
