Default 1988 760 Estate Overheating Probs

I got this wagon in early 2010. Now has 160+K miles, but since May, I've had overheating problems and blown hoses. All of the hoses have been replaced, along with Heater Control Valve (twice). Recently, I've found the recovery tank for the radiator filled with sludge, and a wide greenish-brown stain.
So I had the the cylinder head and gaskets replaced, the cylinder head milled, and the radiator replaced.
This repair, along with the o-rings, etc, came to over $1000. I love how the car drives, and it's a good fit, but I'm not sure if it's worth putting any more cash into it. Any suggestion?

Is this a 4cyl or a 6cyl? Are you saying that after all this work done the car is still overheating? Sounds like oil is entering the cooling system and the problem has not been solved.
