Default 1994 Volvo 960 Cam Belt change ?

Hello ,.im new to this forum,.I am replacing the timing belt on a 1994 960 3.0L
i have seen the routine on autodata disc,..but am a bit confused as ,to the timing marks ? theres no marks on the cam sprockets(i.e lines),.just a white paint mark on each,..am i to assume these are the manufacturers marks ?,also the Crank sprocket, i can see the raised mark on front case, but nothing on the belt sprocket itself,..i did notice a raised line on the flywheel hub,..but when removing No1 plug and placing a rod down the bore, with the hub line and case mark alignied, the piston is not @ TDC ?,..i know some cars have the cam timing set at below/after TDC,..would this be the case with this vehicle ?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, heres hoping! lol
Many Thanks in advance Mick

The timing marks are just marks. It is not #1 TDC.
There should be marks on all of the timing pulleys.
You might have gotten an answer quicker if you had posted it in the 960 section.

I cannot find the pics I had but the crank has 2 marks on it for timing. They are both in kind of the same position. One is between 2 of the teeth close to the oil pump side. The other is a high rised line that kind of butts up against the serpentine pulley. It is close to where one of the 13MM bolts go through the serp pulley into the timing pulley. But if you look straight down you can see it.

I have a couple of images that might help but they are way too large to post here, but are very small files in themselves, just the sight is real restrictive in file sizes.

You could email me and I will forward them to you.

The white marks are not factory marks but maybe some one painted them to highlight because the cam marks are nearly impossible to see.

The crank mark is actually on the back side of the of the crank pulley, the face that holds the balancer has a line casted into it, but your must peer down against the engine block to view it, if you have a small mirror that might help.

With all three shafts on their marks the engine is not at TDC, but is in a position that allows the cams to be fully rotated without interference with pistons.
