Default 1994 Volvo 960 Wagon

Hello I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix tail lights on a 1994 Volvo 960 Wagon. Mine work but are very dim and also when i turn my lights on the middle light lights up and i don't think that is right. Also when my lights are on and i hit my brakes all but the middle light go completely out. I don't get it. I know it is probabally a wiring problem but i don't know how to fix it. Please let me know if any of you know anything that might help.

Usually when lights play up like this it is a problem with the earth (ground).

Trace the black wire from the light unit to where it is attached to the frame. On the rear lights this will not be too far away, usually on the D pillar. Make sure that the contact point is good, clean and tight. Also check the contact at the light unit for the same things.

It kind of sounds like you have water in the housings. Are the lights dim or is the lens getting nasty inside from the gunk that builds up in there when water sits? Do you get a bulb failure warning?
