1997 Volvo 960 fuel tank leak?
Hello all,
I am working on my Grandmother's 97 Volvo 960 with 51K original miles.
When we fill the gas tank up we notice a strong gas smell and gas coming from the top to the tank towards the front of the car.
I opened the truck and pulled the access plate off for the fuel pump/sender and do not notice any leaks there.
My question is there vent lines going to the top of the tank? If so how hard is it to drop the tank or is there access from the backseat with the seat out?
It is definitely not leaking from the filler neck or sender/pump area.
Thank you,
Josh

I imagine this is the same set up as the 940. If so, all the lines are at the access cap for the fuel pump and sender, and there is no other access from behind the seat. As far as dropping the tank, never done it...
