My 740 Turbo (I really really like this car) dies with no warning. In town, on the highway, cold, hot, rainy, dry...does not matter. It goes fine and then just starts decellerating until it stops dead. All lights and power is on. I let it sit for a bit and it starts right up and runs fine. Sometimes it runs fine for weeks with no problem and sometimes it will happen four times in a day. Totally random. I read through many of the posts and have not found this exactly. Any help would be so very appreciated. Thankyou in advance, Sean

 

Check fuel pump relay
Check fuel pump
Check the power stage
Check the speed sensor

 

Thankyou very much. My one question is on the power stage. As in see if the fuel pump is getting power? thankyou again.

The power stage controls ignition.
You can check and see if you have power to the pump.
But the power stage doesn't control the pump.

 

my 87 760 t. is doing that too. i replaced the fuel pump relay and it seemed to work for a bit
then the intank fuel pump went and i replaced that. and the next day my turbo went....
so i scrapped the car!!!

but check the relay for a crack in a solder!
if you know how just resolder them!
its the big white relay on the left side of the panel i think? or it is in mine! and the relays are in under the radio.
