hey there all, i got a 92 960 wagon with an auto trans, does anybody know what type of fluid this trans takes and how much if im just going to service it? as in drop the pan, change the filter and re-fill?

 

I wouldnt recomend changing the old fluid with new on an old tranny if its dark leave it like that! If it is reddish closer to dark you might have a chance i would leave it like that but that just me. I believe the fluid is Dexron 3 or 4 but i heard you cannot mix this two. Google more on that

 

well i agree with you about the changing it on a high mileage trans but its hunting for gears, and it has slow engagement and from what i was told from previous owner it was changed out once before and from what i was reading online the problems im having can be fixed with a good flush and a new filter and some synthetic atf and a aux trans cooler
