Latch cable seems to work, secondary latch is fine, but the hood isn't opening. It is acting like hinges aren't working; hood is catching on the windshield wipers and the windshield was cracked in the corner by the hood.

Although it's a new acquisition, I have opened the hood before without issues, but I'm clueless about how to get it open now. Any ideas?

You say the hood binds against the wipers preventing opening? Or the latches won't release/unlock the hood?

Not much to those hinges. If they were not damaged, they just "scissor".

Was the hood pushed too far back may be due to a "bump" in the front?

Seriously, that sounds like a real Friend of Dorothy situation...

FWIW, the hinges and affixments on these cars are really robust; and, speaking as one with a hood well kissed submarine style, that's probably not a common cause for this type of failure.

I replaced the hood struts on my 98 V90 and that fixed the problem. Had to pull the hood towards the front prior to that to get it open.
