Default 960 engines B6304F VS B6304S

Hi everyone!
I was hoping someone here can tell me what the differerence is between these two engines, other than the F engine being in 92 thru 94 cars and the S engine in the 95 thru 97.
I have called a few Volvo dealers so far and they were no help at all.
Does anyone know why they changed to f to a S??

TIA

Default RE: 960 engines B6304F VS B6304S

The earlier F engines needed timing belt every 30,000 miles then they went to 50,000 miles.
The also had some different sensors on the engines.

Also if you are looking to swap into your car look closely EGR motor will not fit into a Non-EGR car.
And Viseversa
