960 Inner Tie Rod End Replacement Questions . . .
Greetings.
Need help identifying the correct procedure for replacing an inner tie rod end on the '95 960. Have a light clunk coming from that assembly; and straight-line tracking is off (periodic wandering/pulling).
Context: The car seems to have a common TRW rack.
First question -- Does the the steering ram on this model/year require a holding device to prevent damage to the steering gear or seal during inner tie rod removal and replacement?
Next, can a standard combination wrench be used to loosen the tie rod socket from the steering ram, or is this part recessed into the steering gear housing necessitating use of a special tool?
Finally, is the tie rod socket stud staked, setscrewed, or just threadlocked into place?
Looking carefully before I leap. I'll just farm it out to a local shop if there are any gotchas which require either gorilla-level strength or represent a threat to the rack from the application of tightening/loosening torque to the steering ram or seal.
Thanks for the input!

Lev, that's a broad-sweeping general reference which doesn't cover anything in particular related to the TRW/960 arrangement. I cannot afford to experiment with this. I need clear, direct info on my end to determine whether or not I should even start the work, if anyone here has experience with this particular car/rack configuration...
From the OP:
In sum, does anyone have direct experience with this car/rack (or the relevant VADIS info) they would like to share?
Thank you again --
