960 Sunroof questions..
Hi all,
I am recently the proud owner of a '95 Volvo 960 2.5
Excellent car and one in a long line of volvos for me.. I am going round fixing the odds and sods but have been stumped by the sunroof.
At the moment the motor spins freely, or clicks, or moves the roof a smidge depending on its mood. I have cleaned a lot of gunk out the runners and the roof will now move through its full range of operation using the manual screw. However it is slightly misaligned as seems to be catching as it passes the roof skin to either tilt or drop and retract.
I know how to adjust it but want to adjust it with it in its 'parked' position. Can any one tell me firstly where this position is on the runners? Currently it is flush with the roof about a centimeter back from the drop down position to retract (far end of the slot) if that makes sense.
I also think it probably needs retiming as well, the plastic Torx screw has obviously been removed before (its very chewed up) and the sunroof motor screws are equally chewed. I can remove all of these if required.
Basically after any suggestions on what to try.
Its currently in a spinning free mood but know by time i return it will probably be in the move slightly then sound like the worm drive is jumping mood. When it is like this it will usually move about a centimeter on the runners in either direction before the grating noise starts and then it goes to its click click click mood.
All suggestions welcome.
