The a/c compressor on my 96 960 keeps cycling on / off, figuring the freon was low I tried to recharge it but low pressure readings would cycle from 30 (compressor on) to 60 psi (compressor off). Seeing these readings I decided to stop, does this sound like a bad compressor?

 

Those are about normal readings.

 

The compressor should cycle a few times per minute.

 

My A/C compressor was cycling on/off every 3 seconds or so and was not cooling at all. End result was the compressor was leaking and had to be replaced.
