What is the best and most comprehensive repair manual for a 1997 960 wagon? Thanks!

 

Unfortunately, I don't think there are too many guides out there for you. I use a Chilton for my '95 960 wagon. It does not have one just for my year or just for 960. It ranges from 1990-1998 and covers a lot of models. It does a pretty good job most of the time, but since it covers so many different models and years of Volvos, it usually only shows pics of other models when you really need to know what your specific part looks like or where it is. If you can find a more specific one, go for it; otherwise this one is ok to get you by... along with the net.

 

I work on my Volvo my self. I have had just about every different brand of manual over the years. I have found that the most accurate information is the manuals Volvo sells on this web site; https://www.volvotechinfo.com/index.cfm. They are not too expensive and if you are looking for something in particular they are laid out by system. That way you only have to purchase what you need, not the whole library.
