Default Brake question

Hello,
I have a 1997 960 Sedan. I normally do my own brake pad changes. I have never done brakes on a Volvo. Any thing special I should know before I do this? Do I need to have rotors turned? Is the computer involved?
Thanks, John

Easy job on that car. Just make sure you get the right parts as Volvo changed suppliers around that time and it could be diff. brands. I personally only turn rotors if there is warpage, otherwise there is no need. Most shops will of course recommend it if not outright force it on you for obvious reasons...

Thanks for the info. I'm with you. I know shops recomend turning rotors. I read once that Mercedes recomends not turning them but replacing only when warped. Since I'm new to Volvo, thought I'd better check with you first. I still can't believe what I've been missing all these years. What a great car.
Thanks, John
