Default Can't open driver door from exterior of car

Works fine from inside. Took door panel off removed exterior door handle and discovered the problem. The white plastic connector link that connects the operator to the rod has broken in half. Does anyone know of a source for this fragile part? See the image below. The part I need is the white plastic link.

I got one from ebay.

For now, switch the handle with the rear door.

Found a used unit @ Voluparts, Voluparts | Volvo Parts Warehouse | New, Used, & Rebuilt, my good guys supplier. $20 + $5 s&h. Good answer on the rear door switch out. Never thought of that. This is just another piece of Volvo plastic that has deteriorated on me. My fuel door plastic hinge went a few months ago. That was easily found on E Bay. Wasn't able to find that connector via E Bay this time.

Got the part but during the install process i managed to bind the rod and now the release handles has a major bind. Try getting the part in without binding the rod is the mystery. Oh well.

The rod is adjustable length and I had to adjust mine. Also the rod fits into the link on the bottom one way and the clip has to snap onto the shaft to hold it in. I hope you can figure it out without taking apart another door to see how it's done.

Seems to be a common occurrence. Plenty available EBay. I found mine there.

Take care when removing door cards. I broke every fastener in the process. Clips and pins configuration. Do you have a link for that procedure. I need to go back in and tweak the link arm. I bent it during the fix and the outer release latch binds big time.

Getting the door panel off was easy...as it had already been done before...and removing the old latch as well...however I havent figured out how to reconnect the replacement to the rod...theres very little room and you're working by feeling as theres no way to see back there...this isnt as straightforward as i would have hoped...
