Default HELP!!! Heater Core

I just bought a '96 960 Sedan. It has a leak in the heater core, which is causing my car to stink like antifreeze, my windows always being fogged up and not being able to see a damn thing, and the worst part... antifreeze alll over the carpetting. I really could care less if I freeze to death this winter, but I can not handle the fogged up window, soggy carpets, and the constant having-to-put-in-water-every-damn-day routine. I've read that you can bypass the heater core so you don't have to worry about the leak. I have the electronic climate control so changing the heater core myself or even having a mechanic do it is something I can in no way afford. I'm a poor college student and really need help! Can anyone please help me to bypass the heater core? I am not very mechanical but I can follow idiot-proof instructions. Thanks

All you would have to do is remove the hoses from the heater core and find a small pipe that will fit in both hoses. Then slide the hoses over the pipe and tighten the clamps and you are good to go.

I know this is a really dumb question, but can I get to those hoses from under the engine or do I have to remove the whole dash like I would if I were replacing the heater core?

They are under the hood.
Sorry I don't have a picture but open the hood and look next to the brake booster. It is a big black round thing. You will see 2 hoses going inside the car. Back a little bit you will also see a valve inline. You need to disconnect both hoses where they go inside the car and join them together.
