Default How to test booster stages using a voltmeter. 1996 960.

Occasional misfire on #5 cylinder (PO305). Rewired the harness, replaced the coil, flushed the injectors, sorta checked for intake manifold leak (at least the bolts are tight), ran engine 5000+ RPM to clear exhaust valves, and changed the spark plugs.

...so I'm thinking it's one of the power stages. I've yanked the front one and have it sitting here on my desk. Can I test it using a voltmeter? If so, how? I think I've the correct stage for #5 cylinder, and I'd rather test it here than slog through the mud on my driveway trying to get at the rear stage for a swap.

What do you think?

1996 960.

Oh yeah - compressions test shows each cylinder at over 180 psi.
