i have a 89 760 that the ignition lock has froze up.i have a new lock but the release only works when the lock is in the 1 position and i dont know what to do since the lock thats in there now is in the 0 position?anyone know what to do?

 

Are you just replacing the lock cylinder or the entire lock assy.?If you are replacing the entire assy. you can just remove the break off screws and remove the assy.If you are just replacing the lock cylinder im not sure what you can do to get it out.

 

89 models dont have the assy that sticks out off the steering column like 88 down and i dont see any sheer bolts on this assy.all the books i have seen show the earlier assy.this one is not a seperate assy it is part of the sterring column
