My 960 ignition will not return to run...
Ok, I know it's an 960 but really, what's the difference. Anyway, does anyone know what I can do on a simple note to get the key to return to the ON position after the car is started??? This is my 2nd 960 and both has had the same problem.
Here is the problem, when I start the car and let the key go, it does not return all the way to the ON/RUN position. It hangs in somewhere between START and RUN where my windows, turn signals, and other RUN accessories will not work. I usually have to turn the key back myself so these things will work properly.
Sometimes it's the little things that bother us...

Ive had this problem; replaced the ignition switch and that resolved the problem. The reason it does this is that there is spring loaded ***** bearings the slot into each position, one for start, on, acc etc... and over time they wear out and do not return to each position on their own. I had the same issue with my 760 a year ago. Unfortunatly ignition switches are a dealer only part and will run about $200 or check out a local wrecking yard, ebay or just learn to live with it. Its a very easy repair to perform - about 20minutes.
