Default Mystery wires

I purchased a 1982 Volvo 245 GL a couple of months ago and have been working on restoring it. Unfortunately, the a/c compressor had been removed (one line was cut!). I can replace that someday but my problem is that there is a set of 2 wires bundled together in a plastic cover (cut neatly off) that runs parallel to the cut a/c line (on the driver's side of the engine). The wires come out of the firewall and I believe that one of the wires is green. My problem is that I have no idea what they are supposed to connect to. There is nothing electrical on the compressor and the engine fan works fine. All wires for the horns and lights are present and accounted for. If anyone can give me any ideas, I would be most appreciative. The wagon has a B21F engine and an M46 tranny. Thanks much in advance.
