Default Noisy wiper motor

Hello. My beloved 1990 240 sedan suddenly developed a grinding noise in the wiper motor. The wipers still work but don't sound happy. I read that I could use some break cleaner on the motor but I'm not sure where to put it. Should I use a syringe to try to get it in the front of the motor? Do I need to take the wipers off? Should I just have my mechanic replace the motor? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Sarah from S.E. PA

Its has been a while since I had a 240, but do remember a loud wiper motor, what it turned out to be was rust inside the motor caused the magnet to loosen. So I think it may be past a lubrication solution. I recall, it is a real easy fix.
