Default Oil filter help

Hello...I have a 1995 960 Sedan and I want to change the oil and filter myself, but, and don't laugh cos I am a girl and I am new to home maintenance-I can't seem to find the oil filter. Is there a diagram somewhere I can go to that shows me where everything is....
Thanx in advance...
Connie

Heaven forbid! I knowseveral young, and not-so-young, ladies who do their own maintenance. The first time is the worst.

I don't know of any diagram that would show you where everything is that is specific to the 960 but this is a 'how to' remove the oil filter.

You need to jack up the car on a good floor jack - not with the puny jack supplied by Volvo - and then support the car on axle stands.

Remove the splash guard and look up to find the filter.Don't be dismayed by the special tool mentioned. It is merely a filter wrench which you can buy at most car accessory stores. Follow the instructions for the filter.

You will also need to drain the oil from the sump (oil pan). Remove the drain plug and the washer on it. It is best to replace the washer with a new one as they do crush when they are tightened. The sump on the 960 is made of alloy so be very careful when you replace the drain plug to not cross the threads and not over-tighten it.

Hope this is of some help.
