Default Parking brake issue

Just recently purchased a '95 960, everything works except for the parking brake. this is a must in order for it to pass maryland safety inspection. what happens is, parking brake lever will raise and lower fine, light on dash will illuminate but with no resistance. i did climb under the car and locate the parking brake cable. the cable that goes to the left side is intact but the one that goes to the right (passenger) side is disconnected and is just hanging there. any suggestions/comments? if i can buy an aftermarket part and have it installed i will be happy. (high miles, not worried about OEM parts) i dont want to pay hundreds on a simple part and pay a bundle for someone to put it on. thanks, chuck

Default RE: Parking brake issue

It sounds like it is just disconnected. you can reconnect it if nothing is broke.
If it is broke then you will need to buy a new one. the pass. side one is the "short" cable and should not cost that much.
If it is the "long" cable (drive side which goes into the car), then that one will set you back ~$60.

Good luck
