Default Trouble starting after accident

97 excellent condition 960 - 115,000 miles

Car was in a minor front end collision. Engine started up just fine afterwards for a few days. A few weeks later the engine just turns over but doesn't fire. I've removed everything from the front of the car and inspected the timing belt. I can't seem to find anything wrong with anything yet.

Anyone know where to look next?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Air, fuel, spark all that should be needed. Assuming the front end of the engine did not take a hit, so the timing is unchanged. If you have the timing belt front cover off, check the marks, all of them are just too hard to find, but if you have the cover off try to figure that out.

If the cover is not off yet, then check for spark, remove the black and silver volvo cover and remove one coil and spark plug. Place coil back on removed spark plug and ground the base of the spark plug to the engine. Crank over and have someone look for a good solid spark. If spark is confirmed, go to a big brand auto parts store and have them loan you a fuel pressure gauge, check fuel pressure when turn key to start, you might have to deplete the pressure first depending on how long it has been since it was last started, on initital start up, one the key is turned to the second position, the fuel pump pre pressurizes and then shuts off until the engine is running.

Check and see if there is any broken plastic clogging up the air ducting to the air filter, or in the air filter housing, never know what you might find in there after a hit.

Check fuses, maybe something tripped one.
