Trying to extinguish "Check Engine" light - questions
Okay;
1. Box A and Box B
2. Must engine be running. I assume yes it does
3. Plug sensor lead on Box A into #2
4. My write up tells me to
Hold button in for 3 seconds, wait for flashing. Does this happen after release or hold until flashes?
After 1st set of codes flashes, then what? So far I get one set of codes. Then nothing.
Is there a write up available. Is it possible to extinguish the light if code problem is not rectified?
I feel dumb on this one. I tried the search feature on this forum but didn't come up with a write up. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

This how to read codes, engine codes are box "A", position 2, with ignition off, place plug wire in to hole, turn ignition on, engine not running.
Push button and hold for a min. of 3 seconds, no longer than 5 seconds.
If there is a stored code it will be pulsed out with a short gap between pulses. Push button again, and either there will be a new code, or the first code will be repeated.
Once you have read the first code twice the code can be erased. Erasing is holding the button down longer than 5 seconds, then after a few counts the light will glow steady, then push button again for longer than 5 seconds. This will erase codes that have been addressed and codes that are report information about most sensors. But if there is a bad sensor, the code may not erase until action has been taken to remedy the sendor or the connector to the sensor has been cleaned and full electrical flow has been resumed.
All clear and no stored codes, the flash sequence is 1-1-1.
There are a few codes that will not trigger the check engine light.
