Question Windshield wiper fluid pump help

Hey guys! just joined recently on account of my windshield washer fluid not working for a while. I have a 1987 760 turbo and i decided to try to work on it today and remembered this problem. So i went to work on it and blew out the hoses like everything anywhere says and they were fine, all the hoses are hooked up and the pump runs. i hear it humming but the fluid doesn't actually reach my windshield but rather leaks out of the bottom of my car under the tank when i try to use it but i cant tell where it leaks from because its such a pain to get to. Can anyone help me with any of this? I'm thinking about taking the air filter case off the top of it so i can attempt to reach it. any advice or help is much obliged! Thanks guys.

LOL, Hi Waldo, how do you bump a thread that is only 1 day old and still at the top of the thread list. Funny.

Anywho, I had a '87 740 GLE that did that once. The pump was bad. Go ahead and replace the pump. You can also make sure the tube that connects to the pump is not split causing it to loose pressure while trying to pump.

Have a good one.

haha. idk. just figured it gradually went down in the list like most other forums... but ok. thanks man. i checked all the hoses and theyre fine.. but theres a t connector that goes off the main line to another smaller line running to my grill basically... what exactly is that for? i was confused on why it was like that.

The easiest thing to do is pull the hose at the pump, try running it and if you get fluid out at the pump you know you have a hose problem. Like a block somewhere. If you get no fluid out of the pump, you have a bad pump.

So, does any fluid come out of the hole where the tube goes into it?

I have the same question. did some work on the wipers because there was very little fluid getting to the nozzles. cleaned the tubes and nozzles, went to put it back together and found a short hose coming off the "t" right off the pump.. I tied it closed, but would like to know where it belongs...

Fired it out. Kinda. I just took the T out and ran the main line all the way down. Fixed it and it all works. Not sure why it's there still...
