Default No windshield wiper fluid on driver side of car

1990 240 DL Sedan

I am not getting any windshield wiper fluid to the driver side of the car. The rubber tube coming from the fluid tank has a 3 way plastic connection on it - onegoes inthe tube from the tank, onegoesintoanother rubber tube to the passenger side of the car, and the third to another rubber tube that goes to the driver side of the car.

Somehow, this plastic part broke where it fits to the tube for the driver side of the car.

- What is this part called, and where can I get one?

- What is the best way to remove the broken part in the rubber hose ends, especially the one that broke off, and

- What is the best way to slide in the new part? There are no clamps on the 3 hoses that connect to this part.

thanks

I would check your local auto parts store, its is called a T-connector. If you explain to the people at the part store what it is they should know. Or better yet, take the part inside with you. I replaced one on my M3, its not difficult to do, and the part is cheap. Good luck!

I didn't read all of your message, to remove the broken part from the hose, simply take a razor blade and remove that portion of the hose. And to insert the new part, you may wish to use a small small amount of dish soap as a lubricant. I say dish soap, because an oil based product might put a film on your wind screed, and that would be bad. And I say a small amount of soap, because you dont want soap suds spraying all over your wind shield either.

Actually, if it is anything like the ones on the 700/900, and I am sure that it is, it's more than just a T-it's a pressure type valve "thingy" with an internal diaphram that has to come from Volvo, or a junk yard...
