Default 1994 Turbo - Radio / Wheels

Can I replace/upgrade my SC-810 with the SC-816? In the pictures I have of the 816, the connectors on the back look exactly like the ones on my 810. I am ordering the SC-816 online, so I cannot see it side-by-side with my SC-810 and verify that its all the same before I buy it. This is to be installed in my 1994 850 Turbo.

Also, I have the 5-bolt wheels. Will all 850 wheels with 5-bolts fit mine? Will the S70 wheels fit mine as well?

Thanks for any and all input and advice.
Darren

I upgraded my 95 850T to the 816, its plug and play. Just make sure you get the code for the new radio (or the VIN from the donor car). Also the radios come in a black or gray face. My car needed the black, but I put a gray in my S40 (all the "double DIN" Volvos will fit). For the wheels, your model has the 108x5 bolt pattern used by all the modern Volvos from 94 to now. 850s us an 38mm offset with a 65.1 center bore - so yes the S70, V70, S60 etc wheels will fit including 15s, 16s, 17s (watch out for some models of XC, S40 and C70 rims has they may have different center bore). If you go to taller rims just make sure you follow the +1 sizing rule on the tires, ie 195-60-15 goes to 205-55-16 goes to 205-50-17 etc. Wheel and Tire Fitment Guide for 1994-2008 FWD & AWD Volvo Models gives a good overview

Awesome Information! Thanks so much for the reply!! My SC-810 is black and the SC-816 I'm looking at is gray. I don't really care so much about that, just glad to know they can swap in/out. Looking forward to upgraded system! The wheels info is appreciated. My spare is in shreds and I am looking to replace it with a full-size wheel/tire. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your time and your reply. I have always found the answers I need on this forum. Volvos are great, no doubt, but this forum and the people here make owning Volvos even greater!

I have an extra "Cetus" rim for the 850 (no tire or valve stem as I did a repaint job on it) I'm selling. Where you located? Here's a pic of what the Cetus looks like (not my rim...)
