I bought a 94 Volvo 850 Turbo wagon a few days ago for $580! Great condition all around except for the HVAC. So I discovered the climate control did noting but blink 2 lights and i ran across a toggle switch mounted in the glove box hooked straight up to the blower motor that kicks the fan on that someone rigged up, but with the fan going i cant get heat or A/C just outside air. Its an electric control unit not the manual one i know that but does anyone have any info on the proper connections? From what i have read it seems a variable resistor went and someone was lazy. I also have a bad coolant temperature sensor according to a blink code set by the ECU which could be why i have no A/C.

 

Did you check the pressure in the a/c system? Did you check to see if anyone bypass the heater core?

 

I checked the heater core and it hasn't been bypassed

 

All fixed! Took me an hour but after getting parts from a scrap yard I undid whatever the previous owner did now the climate control and A/C work just fine!
