1995 850 turbo Blower / Resistor/ ECC ?
Blower would only blow hot air off and on . I changed the resistor and now nothing blows at all. The blower was working before I changed the resistor. I am wondering if the ECC ia not working anymore or could it still be the blower? Any thoughts? thx Also there are no lights on the ECC that usually light up. Any thoughts

Did you check the codes in B-1? Is the blower speed on AUTO or have you tried to slide it to the right to force the fan to turn on? There are 2 different resistors, I assume you got the more expensive version for the ECC. Check the fuses for the ECC and make sure they are OK.
The only fuse I saw was for the Blower motor. Where is the other fuse.
Thx. I changed the resistor and it the blower motor would run on high. Nothing on the ECC works at all. All the lights were burnt out if that means anything. Thx

How do i check fuse 31 are they expensive to replace? Thx for your help My daughter drove from Brandon manitoba to edmonton 12 hours with no fan but lots of heat still getting thru
Fuses are cheap, just go to any autoparts store. The fuse box might even have a couple of spares.
To check a fuse, pull it out and inspect the center for cracks or missing metal. A multimeter can check resistance from the two spade ends.
To check the fuse holder for electricity, use a test light. Just probe both ends where the fuse is inserted.
To check the ECC unit for electricity, just turn the vent dial and listen for the vents to move. The ECC unit can be pulled out of the dash, with a little effort and the radio out, so you can check the plugs in the back of the unit.

so i stopped by an volvo repair shop in edmonton and they said they could run a scan for $130 and let me know the problem. \i sent away the ECC unit to be rebuilt by BBA reman for $100. I will try this and see what happens. \they said that sensors dcould be the problem also. Any thought? I had actually found a unit at the auto wrecker and \i had to leave town without buying and went back and the car had been crushed, what a waste of a solid body. Thats why i decided to send out the unit and see what happens.
how do you check the codes yourself. The bulbs were burnt out on the ecc unit. They were $6 a piece to replace. I appreciate the help. It is sent off for repair so I guess i will have to wait and see.
This link shows how to check the tranny codes, but the same is true for the B-1 for the ECC unit. You cannot check the ECC codes until the unit is back in the car.
Volvospeed
There are several online sites that have all of the codes explained.

BBA called todday and said they could not find anything wrong with the ECC unit and it would have to be tested in teh car. What and where are the sensors in the car that may be bad. Also what codes should i be looking for ? thx
What I pointed you to was a description on how to use the probe. Plug the prob into B-1, and look at alll of the codes writing each series of 3 numbers down. Then erase them. Those codes that do not erase should be examined.
Here is a list of all of the codes:
