I have a 1996 20valve 2.5 auto and would like to know what I can do to stop the lambda light coming on. The code says it is a misfire. I have changed plugs, ht leads and given everything a clean. I cancel the light and within a week it usually comes back on most often on starting up.

 

New cap/rotor.

 

What plugs are you using? If they are not OEM or Copper, they will cause issue.

 

Try this first,
if this doesn't help came back with exact code so we know if it is random or misfire in particular cylinder
