Anyone having an older model Volvo such as my 1996 850and having trouble finding their vehicle's paint code number such as I had may be interested to know it isstamped on the small (approximately 1 in. x 3in.0 black bordered VolvoCar Corp. which islocated on the left(passenger side0 of the motor compartment. Below the Vehickle ID No.on the tag is a linebearing kg.In the space to the right there will be 3 numbers followed by a 2 digit number. Thefirst 3 numbers arepaint code number. This may sound obvious to most; however, I called several paint shopsand got all kinds of advice on where the numbercould be found. Searching the webb, I found a layout showing wherethe codes are located. It was not in any of the locations described. On one webb page at the botton there was wording stating that on some older model Volvos, The paint code is on the tag described above. Such a simple thing and still so hard for me to find.Bill G.
