ok so to go along with my 92 volvo 240 i recentl bought a 1996 volvo 850glt non turbo with all options for 1350.00 i put new front rotors,new front pads,new tie rod,aliegnment,new spark plug wires,new spark plugs,transmission fluid change and transmission filter, and oil change and oil filter, and serp belt.

the car has roughly 250k on it, and as of lately i have been getting a reverse noise, its speratically though, i took it to pep boys and had them look at it and they said for the mileage it was normal shift linkage noise, i was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if its anythng to worry about or no.

the transission shifts smoothly, the economy and sport mode works, its JUST in reverse that it makes that slight clunk and it DOESNT ALWAYS do it sometimes it just shifts smooth and fine other times it has that slight clunk. other than than the transmission shifts perfectly fine and reverse works perfectly fine, i just seem to be getting some sort of shift linkage noise is what they said

they did say that i had a bad right cv joint i have yet to fix but they said the noise wasnt the cv joint although i know those can make a clunk in reverse like that, not sure.

just wanted your guys opinion

 

or was wondering if this couldb e a cold weather thing? have been seeing 20s and 30s degrees lately, wonder if it just doesnt like the cold or what

 

Maybe it is a bad motor mount?
