In other words, they're finicky pieces of sh*ts.

I tend to agree. Really, what's the alternative? A car payment, another used performance car that will be another finicky piece... I'll make the switch to a merc or jag from the last decade but they will be the same story. I know I'll regret selling the 850 too.

Made a junkyard run last wk, saw five cleean 4liter v8 jags on the stands. Guess they were even more moody than my car...

It's funny. My wife absolutely HATES my car while I love my car. She doesn't undertand why at 155,xxx miles I've had to do so much to this car all while her '99 Toyota Sienna is at 198,xxx and has needed almost nothing (besides regular maintenance) in the years we've owned it. I will be honest, that Sienna is the absolute BEST vehicle investment I have ever made. Besides routine maintenance, I've replaced both bank 1 O2 sensors and that is IT! I'm about to replace the valve cover gaskets, plugs, PCV valve and motor mounts, trans fluid change (gonna drop the pan and clean the screen) soon. I think the A/C compressor is not going to last much longer as it's getting noisey. Other than that, I could not have asked for a better vehicle for my wife to drive herself and our daughter around in. She asks me why I don't get rid of the Volvo and get a Camry....I always laugh in her face and walk away.

Try to find a Camry wagon and get it. Then you'll have to run women or find some other hobby. If a guy doesn't have a hobby, his hobby is running women. LOL

LOL for both gents!

I replaced the plugs on a 1mz Solara.. Never again will I work on a Toyota v6. As a teen I wanted to swap one in my 99 Camry, glad I never had the opportunity to.

Finnickey yea, lol! But certainly more reliable and cheaper to maintain than a Jag or old German car. I expect mine to be very reliable once I'm caught up on the deferred maintenance. I don't think there has to be an alternative- just keep up on maintenance.

Thanks guys, and for your advice. I'll be lurking around and asking plenty of questions.. being a volvo noob and all I'm really loving this car.. Honestly nothing wrong, except the dash needs a little help. Best of all, it has COLD AC! It's a blessing with this current 110 degree CA weather
