Hey guys
I am new to the site, looks good. Just picked up a 1997 850 t wagon for pretty cheap but need to rebuild turbo. Took turbo out and got a kit off ebay but it was the wrong one even though it said it would fit. Here are the specs off the turbo

Can anyone direct me to the right kit to rebuild my turbo this time? thanks

 

If you're rebuilding it yourself, do you plan on getting it professionally balanced when you're done? You can source a used 15G for probably $100-$150

 

no, not going to balance it, anyone know what kit i can use? on my door it says the car was made in 3/96.. Do i have a 1996 or 1997?

 

Have you rebuilt turbos before? If you're rebuilding it, I think not having it professionally rebalanced would be silly and have the chances of prematurely wearing out the re-build you just did on it. Also, if you're going to rebuild it yourself, don't skimp out on ebay ****, gpopshop.com has quality rebuild kits. You can even send your turbo there, they'll rebuild it and balance it for you.

And a 15G on an 850, is a 15G. No differences between them besides the exhaust housing.
