Default 3 small Covers on back of Turbo engine

There are 3 small covers on the back of the engine just above the oil pan seam, are these related to the cooling jets? I ask because my middle cover is starting to leak.

When was the last time you changed your PCV? I will spare you the horror story but my last engine leaked like a siv. Bottom line, the rings were shot and I had no compression but what really was happening is the blow by was so bad it pressurized the block and I sprung leaks along the actual mid block and pan. If yours in the cover count yourself lucky, easy to address.

This is my story, dont know if it relates to what your seeing but I would change that PCV if you havent.

Side note: Oil cooling is not present on N/A engines but is on Turbo engines and exits the oil pan on the front pully side of the engine.

One of those covers leaked on our S70, it was a good leak. I ordered the kit, they don't sell 1 all 3 come in the kit. I replaced 1 and not the other 2 so I have 2 of those if you need 1, PM me.

The PCV system on our car was in bad shape when we got it. I replaced it about 4 months into our ownership because it was popping the oil dip stick out. We also had cam shaft seals leaking so I replaced all 4 of them as well.

I do believe that our clogged PCV system contributed greatly to our leaks.
