850 bulb warning light
Hi all. I have a 95 850 and the bulb out warning light recently started coming on when applying the brakes. I have replaced all three brake lights with the same type of bulb (GE long life) and have cleaned all the contacts for each bulb on both the left and right side and center brake lights. All of the brake lights work fine yet the warrning light still comes on when applying the brakes. It stopped for about 3 days after I replaced the bulbs with the same brand all around and cleaned contacts but then started up again. Any ideas on what to try next??
Thanks for any help you might be able to provide,
Rob Rike

RE: 850 bulb warning light
Hey, Thanks for the reply. I will give the cleaning another try as I remember I did not sand and put grease on the middle brake light. I did sand the contacts and put dielectric grease on all the lights on the right and left but I wonder if the center one could be the culprit? I know it works though. Is there a bulb sensor that can go bad or should I continue with the bulbs? It is weird how it was fine for a few days after the cleaning and grease and then it started again. I will check it out again in the mean time.
Thanks again,
Rob Rike

RE: 850 bulb warning light
Also if you have a sedan some times the contacts under the 3rd brake light assy get dirty as well and the light only works sometimes. The entire assy. slides out and there is tabs on the bottom of it.If I find one that is dirty I clean the tabs and bent them open a little as well then reinstall.
