850 cabin air filter replacement
today i went to use my heat after my 1995 volvo 850 sat for about a year and i got a funky smell and i think the cabin air filter needs to be replaced, can anyone help me out with instructions on how to replace it, and where it is in the car?
it should be by the firewall on the passenger side....Check this Video out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f93-Cwo2qP4
This is one of the 'easy' fixes on a Volvo. Its under the plastic leaf guard that covers the windshield wiper area at the base of the glass. Take out the two screws from the passenger side and lift it. You can get the old out and new in through the slot.
I would get the upgraded filter sold at FCP Groton. The upgraded filter is made of charcoal; the best odor absorbent on the planet at the moment.
Also, getting a can of automotive A/C odor spray and spraying it from the intake (with the filter off, of course) as well as into the vents is a nice touch.
