Considering engine swap instead of changing head gasket.. any opinions on which option is easier for DIY?

 

Umm...an engine swap or a head gasket. Do you know what goes into pulling an engine? the kind of space you would need? The tools? etc. Replace the headgasket, it will be cheaper, easier, and faster. When you say blown warped head gasket. Did you blow your headgasket and then warp the head? If so, you need a new head.

 

Head gasket is easier but you should have that head checked and see if it can be surfaced.

If your anywhere near Miami FL, South Miami Machine sometimes has 850 heads already rebuilt and machined for $350. They Just wont ship.

 

A Word of Advice.

Do not wait to pull the head off. This is my engine 6 days after I blew my head gasket.
