I did a search and no one has the same symptom as my '93....

If the switch on the headliner is turned off, no lights (duh) and no chime. But, if I turn the switch in the headliner to either position (door or on), the lights do not turn off, but the chime sounds. Also, if you open the glove box, (even if headliner switch is off), the chime sounds.

None of the map light switches front or rear turn the lights on. Although I don't know if they should remain off if the headlighter switch is set to off. But, none of the interior lights will come on.

The dash lights, etc. work.

If they just didn't work at all, I'd start my at the fuse box and work my way back to the lights, but since the chime comes on, that has me confused...

Any ideas?

 

Check all the fuses.
I believe if one blows it will act like that.

 

I finally got a chance to take a look.... it was just the fuse... The chime going off is what made me think it might be something more, but I guess it was telling me that the stinking fuse was broken...

Oh well, live and learn.
