how hard is it to rebuild a 850r turbo and do i need somekind of special tools to do it?

 

Rebuild the motor?

Its fairly simple, just very time consuming and will run you between $800 and $1500 for a simple rebuild depending on what you do new valves, new rings ans such. or anywhere from $2000 to $4000 from what ive heard for a HP motor, with H-beams, and moly rings and such.

My motor build is going to cost me only $575 because I am doing all the machine work myself.

 

The turbo can be rebuilt but you will need to get it balanced afterwards by a shop. You can find a few post that mention it, not sure about step-by-step instructions.

mattyxxl i only need to rebuild the turbo motors i can rebuild no problem but a turbo is a whole new thing form me and i dont know anything about it.
how much did the rebuild of the turbo cost you with balansing it

 

Total cost $125 to $150 for me... plus about 2 hours of my time
