Most importantly, battery dying while driving. Battery charged, driving and hit a bump in the road and indicator lights in instrument panel light up! Anyone have some solutions?

 

During night driving, there are no lights available coming from the instrument panel in my 850. Headlights are on but nothing else. Also, lights in ashtray, and other dash lights are off. I'd appreciate help on locating the culprit.

 

If the battery dies while driving the Alternator is not charging.
Are you talking about the back lighting when you say it comes on when you hit a bump?
If so then the dashlight dimmer switch is bad.

 

instrument panel lights come on when I hit a bump in the road.

 

Could be a headlight switch gone bad.

 

When your lights are working, move your dimmer all the way down...take note...are all the lights that are out when you hit a bump out the same lights that are out with the dimmer down low?
