I am about to purchase an 850 turbo sedan but the sad part is its only a 4 speed auto and its the only one i can find in my area for the price range i am in. i was just wondering about how much it would cost to swap it to a 5 speed standard.

 

Your looking at a good $1,500-$3,000 swap.

 

damn i knew i was looking at the 2k range, do you think i should really do it? i mean would it be fast as is? and by fast im not talking about track fast but just good get up n go speed.

 

It is an LPT turbocharged Volvo. It is faster then the NA models, but nothing like the HPT model Volvos.

A manual will help you keep more of that power planted I believe then the Automatic would.

If you like Manual go for it.

P.S.: You bought the wrong type of car to mod if your looking for cheap parts. I am a cheap person and I have a hard time letting me cash go to some of the parts I have on my car. Or parts that I want to put on my car.

 

i didnt really buy it to mod i just thought "hey i gotta turbo, but i wish it was standard" i can live with it though, thanks for the advice. i didnt even know there was a community of people that modded volvos' i never actualy thought volvo's where like this but ive been reading into them and im starting to fall for them
